Interesting Stuff:

If you love being in the science lab, then our Cert III in Laboratory Skills is the ideal qualification to get you into this microscopic world of wonder. With a focus on collecting, sampling, identifying and analysing, you'll be able to make the perfect step forward in your science career.
The Cert III in Laboratory Skills provides you with the opportunity to learn basic lab skills using measurement, microscopes, and data analysis. It's the perfect entry to help you understand the microscopic world that we live in and how to identify and manage samples found in everyday situations.

Working with Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, you'll get a front row seat to how a real laboratory works and functions. Students studying the Cert III in Laboratory Skills with HSH spend 3 full days in the Harry Perkins training labs to get real world application to what they are learning in the HSH Lab.

This qualification has employment opportunities after you have finished and will enable you to gain work as a Laboratory Assistant in a variety of different businesses. Have a look on seek.com at the options.

Some students complete this as a single qualification option and move onto other future opportunities when they've graduated with HSH. Most students want to continue into a second year with us and complete the Cert IV in Science (Biology) - Forensic Focus. This is what we call a 'dual qualification' over the 2 years and keeps the student moving towards their career path for year 11 and 12 and then onto university. Have a look at the Cert IV qualifications to decide if this is the right option for you.

Entry Requirements:
A Cert III isn't the most difficult qualification, but it's not the easiest either. There is still work to do - eLearnings need to be read, notes need to be made, and assessments need to be completed and submitted.

When we look at the requirements of the whole qualification, here are the details for what we believe will help you successfully complete the certificate.

Here is what you need for your application:

  • A recent school report showing that you have achieved a C grade minimum in English, Science and Maths.
